Ruby's Stats
Ruby is a Hackney cross mare
Hackney ponies average 14 hands in height (140 cm or 56 inches) and have a characteristic high-stepping trot. These days they are mostly seen in the show ring, but are known for their speed and endurance.
Ruby came to the Farm in 1988 in poor condition and pregnant. She gave birth to a filly named Crystal. Ruby has beautiful blue eyes (known as wall eyes) and skewbald markings. She loves a good gallop and roll in the fields and likes to come over to meet people who visit her at the Farm.

Ruby is now a grandmother because Crystal has recently had a foal named Paddy.

Ruby's friend Dingle
Ruby lives with the Farm's other pony Dingle. The pair have a strange relationship, often arguing and nipping each other, but they like to stay close to one another and don't like being seperated for very long!

Ruby is one of the animals in the Farm's Animal Share scheme, along with Dingle.
